I haven’t touched a light switch in two years.
No, I’m not living in the dark, nor am I living with the lights on. I’m just living with my Hue Lights.
This is not a sponsored post. I genuinely love my Hue lights. It’s one piece of technology that has revolutionized my life, and now after two years of living with them, I want to share my experience.
Hue lights are smart light bulbs designed by Phillips. They are long-lasting LEDs. They have variable luminosity and color temperatures. They can be connected with a voice assistant such as Amazon Alexa, Google Home, or Apple HomePod, and they can be controlled with a smart app.
While these selling points are great, these are not the reason I love my hue lights so much. The main feature that has changed me is automation. You can program your lights to fit your routine. Lights automatically come on in the morning and turn off at night.
With my whole house outfitted with Hue lights, I never have to touch a light switch again. My lights are on when I need them and off when I don’t. I never have to wake up and turn lights on or get out of bed to turn my lights off. My entire day is programmed to my hue lights, which has been a game-changer.
If I need to utilize a light on a one-off basis, it’s easy enough to grab my phone and click a single button in my widgets window. And once my routine rolls around, my lights are back on their regularly scheduled programming.
These lights make waking up easier, as they can gradually turn on and wake me up gently. And these lights help me fall asleep, as they slowly dim throughout the night until it’s time for bed.
If you asked me two years ago which innovative technology would revolutionize my life, I would never have guessed it’d be Hue lights. I thought smart lights were overrated. I made the purchase decision because I wanted the full RGB color spectrum, but that’s simply a bonus feature. The best feature has been automating my routines.
So if you were like me and against the idea of smart lights, I’m here to tell you it might just change your life.
As always, make it a great day or not; the choice is yours.
